Being a member of a professional body and having accreditations provides independent recognition of my professional skills, knowledge, and competencies. I am required to demonstrate continuing professional development (CPD) as part of my annual membership to these bodies including training courses, briefings and events. This ensures that I stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, news, and developments. As part of these accreditations, I am required to maintain high standards of practice and ethics. This helps to protect the reputation of the profession and ensures that clients and stakeholders can trust my competency and integrity.

It is important to use an independent damp surveyor because they provide an unbiased assessment of the property’s condition. We are not here to sell you products!!! As independent professionals, we do not have any financial interest in up-selling services or products related to any damp treatment, so I can offer honest advice to my customers. A survey conducted by an independent damp surveyor is more accurate and reliable as they have no incentives to exaggerate the extent of the problem or recommend unnecessary treatments. This can save you money in the long run as you will not be paying for unnecessary work or repairs. Additionally, some mortgage providers and insurance companies require an independent damp survey before providing funding, so using an independent damp surveyor can help ensure that you meet these requirements.

As an independent damp surveyor. I can help to identify any moisture issues at the property, provide advice on how to prevent them and recommend appropriate solutions to rectify any issues found.

Further to this, being a local independent damp surveyor I have extensive knowledge of the local region and understand the various types of dampness, causes, symptoms, and treatments that are more prevalent in the area. I always aim to respond quickly to your requirements and provide a bespoke report to you and your property. I will advise you of my findings and recommendations in a ‘plain English’ report and explain technical terminology in simple terms with a follow-up conversation to discuss any questions you may have.

I believe that a good damp surveyor should leave no stone unturned in their survey and report. They should examine all areas of the property that could be affected by dampness, including the roof, walls, floors, and external environment. I use the latest technology and equipment, such as moisture meters, thermal cameras, and borescopes, to aid in my investigations.
